Autumn

My heart feels heavy yet it beats for you my love.
Something about you is different ’cause I’m latching on to you.
Maybe it’s the way you love me,
with pure intentions and a clean heart,
or the way you shine like the sun when I need to see the light,
or the way you value me and respect my womanhood with each embrace and gentle kiss,
or maybe it’s just refreshing to be treated right.
You look at me as if I’m golden, and when I am with you
I can’t help but feel
powerful.
From the moment we met, our souls connected and vibed, we became one.
You elevate me to be my best self,
inspire me to take advantage of God’s gift of life.
Because you love me, and
not what I can do for you
I am able to say you are the man that I love,
and I am so grateful for that.
